Island Storm—known affectionately as Izzie—is a 2012 Thoroughbred mare who joined our program in 2021. Since then, she has raised three orphan foals, each one benefitting from her gentle, attentive way of mothering.

While Izzie can be a bit sensitive with humans, her maternal instincts are exceptional. With her foals, she becomes a true momma hen—nurturing, kind, protective, and fully devoted to the babies in her care. She pours her whole heart into raising each orphan, and her soft, steady presence makes her a treasured part of our herd.
