Meet Our Team

Bronwyn Watts

Bronwyn Watts has spent her life with horses. Raised on a working farm in rural southwest Virginia, her journey began at birth and was shaped through years in 4-H and Pony Club. With over 30 years of experience in the horse world, she’s built a reputation on knowledge, care, and unwavering standards.

Since 2004, Bronwyn has worked as a professional groom in Three-Day Eventing, supporting top-tier athletes at major competitions across the U.S. and Canada. Her deep commitment to equine welfare led her to create Cold Spring Mares—an ethical nurse mare program built on compassion, innovation, and purpose.

At the heart of it all is her belief that every horse deserves dignity, and every foal deserves a chance.

At ColdSpring Mares, our interns are truly part of the team. We meet once a week to collaborate on meaningful projects in social media, digital marketing, donor retention, fundraising, and overall nonprofit operations. Every internship is remote, allowing our interns to work from anywhere while connecting with professionals from a wide range of fields across the globe. Though our internships are unpaid, we are deeply committed to providing intentional learning experiences, mentorship, and opportunities to create real, portfolio-worthy work that helps launch successful careers. Our interns bring fresh ideas, energy, and creativity to our mission—and in return, we do everything we can to support their professional growth. We hope to develop pathways for our interns to move into paid positions within ColdSpring Mares or to exciting roles elsewhere in the industry. We truly love and appreciate our interns and can’t wait to welcome the next group of passionate changemakers to our team.
