Oh, Daisy—the mare everyone falls in love with the moment they see her. This 11-year-old Belgian Draft is the definition of a gentle giant, with a soft spirit, kind eyes, and a heart big enough for every orphan foal who has ever needed her.

Daisy joined us in 2025 and stepped instantly into her role as a nurse mare. She adored her very first orphan, but tragically, that foal was extremely compromised and did not survive. Daisy grieved deeply, showing just how much love she had to give. Determined to help her heal, we searched for another foal who needed her — and soon, a call came from Alabama.

Off Daisy went, and the moment she laid eyes on her new orphan foal, she fell in love all over again. Her transformation was immediate: nurturing, protective, gentle, and fully devoted. Watching Daisy mother her foals is watching pure tenderness in motion.
